About Alfred Zunguze

Alfred Zunguze holds a bachelor's degree in rural engineering and attending a master's program in environmental management at Licungo University in Mozambique.  Alfred is a project local coordinator at Consortium Associations with Mozambique (CAM), focusing on managing projects related to solid waste management and urban regeneration in the municipality of Beira City, with the aim of improving the living conditions of disadvantaged populations and conserving the environment.   He has been working for seven years in the environmental sector in Mozambique.  Alfred has supported community-based organizations in implementing solid waste collection projects and the legalization and development of business models for informal solid waste microentrepreneurs.  He also volunteers with the Movement Let's Do It Mozambique, which promotes cleanup activities and environmental awareness.  Recently, he opened a consulting agency (Ecothira Consultoria), which aims to provide consulting and research services in socioeconomic and environmental areas and give support to vulnerable people so they can develop their own businesses.  Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, he plans to become an expert in community development issues in Mozambique as well as in Southern Africa.
