Lot Iyaloo Shikongo has over 10 years of professional experience in journalism and government communication.  He holds a diploma in development journalism and a bachelor's degree in communication.  Lot is currently a senior information officer and regional head at the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology's Kunene Regional Office.  He has spearheaded the establishment of rural information and communication technology (ICT) centers in his region, which serve as access points for ICT services such as the internet, photocopying, printing, lamination, typing, videography, and photography, as well as sound service provision.  The centers also serve as training hubs for community journalism and digital literacy, with the goal of giving voice to and closing the digital divide in Kunene's most remote and vulnerable communities.  Upon completion of the Fellowship, Lot plans to mentor young people in his region to help close the digital divide among rural populations through tailored support systems such as digital literacy trainings, access to information, and community journalism programs.
