About Devotha Nyambo

Devotha G.  Nyambo has over nine years of experience as an academic since she started as an assistant lecturer in the field of computer science.  Currently, Devotha is a senior lecturer at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology focusing on building capacity for young scientists in the areas of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.  She has led several research and interventional projects as a principal investigator and country lead.  Devotha is also a consultant in the ICTs where she has engaged with several organizations locally and internationally in fieldwork, data collection, paperless tools customization, data management, and information systems analysis.  Devotha holds a PhD in information and communication sciences and engineering.  Devotha is committed to advancing agricultural production using emerging technologies like AI.  Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Devotha plans to advance in her leadership roles and build a sustainable research structure on artificial intelligence within the AI4D Africa Network.
