About Julian "Jules" Komuhangi

Julian Komuhangi is a seasoned biomedical laboratory professional with over eight years of experience in various facets of healthcare in Uganda including laboratory management, quality improvement and health policy advocacy.  Julian is currently a regional quality improvement advisor at the Ministry of Health, she oversees the planning and implementation of quality improvement strategies to elevate healthcare standards, collaborates with various stakeholders to institutionalize quality improvement practices and enhances service provision in one regional referral hospital, 10 district hospitals, 16 sub-district health centers in the Rwenzori region of western Uganda.  Julian holds a master's degree in laboratory science and management.  Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, she will leverage on her relationship-building skills and networks to influence positive change in healthcare policies and practices.  She intends to advocate for evidence-based policies, mentor emerging leaders and catalyze impactful transformations within the healthcare sector in Uganda and beyond.
