About Fanta DIOP

Fanta Cire Diop has over six years of experience as a sustainability specialist, focusing on sustainable waste management.  Currently, she works as a project management officer at Sonaged SA, where she oversees waste management initiatives.  Fanta is investing in the development of an eco-industry that will transform organic waste into valuable eco-products and is deeply committed to capacity-building efforts in sustainable development and climate change adaptation, with the goal of empowering professionals from various sectors to drive meaningful change locally and globally.  Fanta holds a master's degree in sustainable management and environmental innovation.  Motivated to improve her public management skills, she aims to drive effective policy implementation and stakeholder engagement in the sustainability sector.  After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Fanta intends to use her improved project management skills and expanded network to lead impactful sustainability projects in Senegal and abroad.  She hopes that her leadership will shape African environmental and socioeconomic development policies.
