Chagaka John Kalimbia has over six years experience in the fields of renewable energy, minerals exploration, mining, and natural gas pipeline construction. Chagaka currently works as a Project Management Practitioner in the state geothermal development company to comprehensively build up project concept papers, proposals, and rigorous business cases to ensure successful implementation of the geothermal projects. He must identify key project risks and mitigation strategies, establish project costs and schedules, project financing arrangements and direct community benefits associated with developing the resource.Chagaka holds postgraduate diploma in Project Management and Finances and a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering from the United Nations University-Geothermal Training Program of Reykjavik, Iceland and the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, respectively.Using the enormous untapped indigenous geothermal, solar, and wind energy sources, Chagaka aims at being a sustainable energy specialist to facilitate the country's efforts in mitigating adverse effects of climate changes in the electricity supply industry through providing the community with environmentally clean and sustainable sources of power to support various social-economical activities. Upon his return to Tanzania, Chagaka plans to champion creativity in both technical and business contexts in strategic planning, managing, and delivering small and medium scale renewable energy projects.
