Natasha Asaba has over seven years of experience in the energy sector focusing on electricity supply. Currently, she is a project engineer at the Electricity Regulatory Authority, where she manages the licensing process of electricity generation projects by conducting a technical review of the applications, and monitoring progress both at feasibility study and construction levels. Prior to joining the Electricity Regulatory Authority, she served as a project engineer under the Capital and Contracts Division of Umeme Limited where she successfully led four major power projects that improved the quality and reliability of supply of electricity in the project areas. Natasha is a Certified Project Management Professional with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Makerere University, and a diploma in Renewable Energy from Life Academy, Sweden. She is passionate about community transformation using sustainable and affordable clean energy solutions as well as the promotion of gender equality. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Natasha plans to partner with lead organizations in the energy sector and fellows to provide practical, affordable, and clean energy solutions for community transformation as well as establish a strong mentorship network for girls to take on STEM courses.
